Does Colin Powell have a HopeandChange hangover?

Did Colin Powell sell out his soul and his country when he endorsed Barack Obama?

What does Powell stand for? A black president? Fiscal responsibility? High taxes? Low taxes? Big government? Limited government? Who knows. If he stood for limited government he never would have endorsed Obama in the first place. Or he never bothered to spend the twenty minutes it would have taken to find out what the man is all about.

“I think one of the cautions that has to be given to the president – and I’ve talked to some of his people about this – is that you can’t have so many things on the table that you can’t absorb it all. And we can’t pay for it all,” Powell said.

“And I never would have believed that we would have budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars, and we are amassing a huge, huge national debt that, if we don’t pay for in our lifetime, our kids and grandkids and great grandchildren will have to pay for it.”

Something tells me that Powell’s advice to our Dear Leader will fall on deaf ears. I guess it’s easy for people like Colin Powell, Christopher Buckley and the other useful idiots to endorse socialists on a whim when their own futures are secure. Next time, they may want to think about their fellow Americans. You know - the less fortunate ones - the ones they’re selling down the river when they endorse candidates based on nothing more than a whim.

I agree. He didn’t realize all this would happen when he made the endorsement? He just chose to look the other way.

Powell and Buckley should have been shown the door to the Republican party 9 months ago, and told not to let it hit them in the ass.
