It’s all about control

If all the democrats wanted was to cover the uninsured in America – the truly uninsured who want health insurance but can’t get it – they could simply add it to the budget. They could pay the premiums for those 8 million or so Americans without health insurance. Sure, our side would object, but it would be a heck of a lot cheaper than this health care overhaul they’re trying to ram through.

So, what’s behind this push to outlaw private health insurance and fundamentally change the way health care in America is financed? Funny you should ask! It’s about control, plain and simple. They could spend about $35 billion are year and cover the truly uninsured. Yet they want to completely change the system.

It’s time you ask yourself why.

Oh, and here’s another democrat begging President Obama to knock it off. Fat chance.

WHY is nobody saying “tort reform”????

I worked for an insurance company a million years ago. I know that insureds (or let’s say medical ‘victims’) can sue for something that is basically a minor wound requiring a band aid–either a minor mistake, or a legitimate denial under the policy coverage but creating no major harm. In one of our cases, it was pretty clear a man hired his brotherinlaw to burn down his house at the holidays; proving that was beyond difficult, but the evidence sure led that way. We questioned his neighbors. This man turned around and sued us for $20 million—not to replace his stuff, but for conducting a legitimate investigation. THE JURY AWARDED HIM $25 MILLION. Because we were a “huge insurance company”. This man was not harmed; at the worst, he may have been embarrassed but unless he was a complete jerk, I would assume his neighbors would have sympathized with him and not us. Were his hurt feelings worth $20m? Should a jury be able to just add another $5m because they resent paying premiums?

The same thing happens in medicine every minute of the day. Look, if your foot is removed instead of your gall bladder, yeah you deserve to be made whole. If they run the wrong test on you and cause no harm—-BUPKISS FOR YOU. Let’s start there and see what happens to the affordability of health care.

And for all of you who believe insurance companies are evil, go educate yourselves! They risk, per person, many times the amount of money they collect in premium. Just for starters.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

The Republic as we know it is pretty well doomed…but there still is a chance for future generations to rebuild it…but it will take a “revolution” of minds and hearts to do it. Or maybe another kind of revolution that I wouldn’t want to partake in.
