If they had ended the fireworks 30 seconds sooner the effect would have been better. Maybe next year we'll check out the fairgrounds fireworks, as long as we don't have to miss the baseball game! In this one it was horrible. Not only was it way too short (16 minutes is actually on the paltry side for a July 4th display, I'd say), it was nothing but lots of ground displays. No big shells, no huge shells, all low-altitude stuff with the same stuff going off over and over. And no finale. It was the worst display I've ever seen in my entire life, bad enough to ruin the entire weekend; I care deeply about fireworks. In spite of the fact that I did enjoy the game and the food, I wish I'd gone to the fairgrounds instead. On everything else, though, you have my full agreement. Once the government controls health care, the supercharged nanny-state garbage we've been dealing with for years is going to kick into overdrive.
