According to USA Today, the GAO has found that states aren’t spending Porkulus as it was intended. Surprise! They’re using the money to fill budget gaps. Rather than make hard choices and cut spending, the way many American families have done, the states are continuing their big-spending ways.
The best way to fill state coffers is to stimulate private enterprise. The geniuses in government just don’t seem to get it. Private companies exist to make a profit. With profit come jobs and tax revenues to local, state and federal governments. The formula has been proven time and again. Incentivizing investment through lower taxes is the way to get the economy off life support.
The way things are now the only thing being stimulated is the government. Private investors have gone into hiding until the business climate improves. That’s not going to happen anytime soon. Someone has to pay for all of this spending – business owners and investors know who that someone’s going to be. They see the writing on the wall and have gone the way of John Galt.
Can you blame them?

Ummm …. NO
WA state INCREASED spending 30% yet I get a pay cut of 15% a cut to my 401k contribution and increased costs for medical care?
The fact is Dems are FUBAR when it come to money matters. Too many “feel good” fluffy courses in college if you ask me.
But Sam…Ivy league Frisbee is very demanding!
