Way to go, folks. Stand up and be heard!
Regular everyday working taxpayers send a message to Congressman Tim Bishop.
Politico reports that democrat town hall meetings all across our republic are getting wild.
The silent majority is silent no more. If they refuse to act as our representatives, the least we can do is put them on notice.
Screaming constituents, protesters dragged out by the cops, congressmen fearful for their safety — welcome to the new town-hall-style meeting, the once-staid forum that is rapidly turning into a house of horrors for members of Congress.
On the eve of the August recess, members are reporting meetings that have gone terribly awry, marked by angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior. In at least one case, a congressman has stopped holding town hall events because the situation has spiraled so far out of control. [...]
Freshman Rep. Dan Maffei (D-N.Y.), whose event at a Syracuse middle school was disrupted, said that he still planned to hold additional town halls but that he was also thinking about other options.
“I think you’ve got to communicate through a variety of different ways. You should do the telephone town hall meetings. You should do the town hall meetings. You should do the smaller group meetings,” said Maffei. “It’s important to do things in a variety of ways, so you don’t have one mode of communication.”
“You’re going to have people of varying views, and in this case, you’ve got the two extremes who were the most vocal,” Maffei said of the flare-up at his July 12 event.
Hey Dan, (I would call you “Mr Representative” but you certainly aren’t representing me or my family – you seem to know only how to represent Nancy Pelosi) how about rather than communicate at us, you instead shut up and listen to us! Rather than asking us to listen to what you plan to force down our throats (of course while putting a hopey-changey spin on it) why don’t you just listen to what we want? Or should I say, what we don’t want! I know, you’ve spent your entire adult life waiting for a chance to join the statists. It must really suck to have your little collectivist parade rained on. Imagine that! Americans who don’t want to be dependent on the government. Yet all we ask is that you just stop and get out of our way. Really, is that too much to ask?
I’ll go to a Dan Maffei town hall, and if given the chance, I will ask just two questions: Did you bother to read any of the bills you’ve voted for in their entirety? And why didn’t you tell the people of Central New York that once elected you would become a puppet of Nancy Pelosi? Oh wait, make that three questions. Have you bothered to read that pesky little document you swore to uphold? If so, how can you justify any votes you have cast as a member of the House of Representatives?
Sorry, I got a little carried away. If you aren’t upset with your democrat representative, you haven’t heard this little gem:
But Democrats are quick to point out they’re not the only ones facing hostile audiences. They single out Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.), who found himself in a confrontation earlier this month with a “birther” protester, and insist that Republicans face a backlash of their own if it appears the party is too closely aligned with tea party activists or other conservative-oriented protesters.
“It’s a risk that they align themselves with such a small minority in the party,” said Brian Smoot, who served as political director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in the past election cycle. “They risk alienating moderates.”
They obviously don’t understand the Tea Party movement. It’s made up of republicans, democrats, liberatarians and independents. Basically it’s a cross section of average Americans who have had it with the federal government. We’ve had it with the spending and the debt. We’ve had it with the promise to “spread the wealth around” which only means killing the economy. We’ve had it and we certainly don’t want our children to have to pay for it. Enough!
I do believe it’s going to be a hot August.

He’s my congressman too. I’d like to go to one of his town hall meetings this month and protest nationalized healthcare.

I’m trying to remember to search for info on his meetings daily. If I find anything I promise to post it ASAP.

Take all your tea parties and the rest of your crap back to England, Germany, Spain or wherever the hell your pasty pale-faced ancestors came from. This is our land, remember.
