Watson and some members of the black caucus are old enough to have lived through the horrors committed by Castro. My first encounter was at 12 years old. I recall living in fear for weeks during the Cuban Missile Crisis when the world was going to be destroyed by nuclear missiles. Where was Watson when Castro murdered thousands of people, seized American owned business and farms, imprisoned Christians, turned Cuba into communism, closed churches, took away freedoms, seized personal property and personal bank accounts. I am frightened again when our leaders want to model America based on a communist system. Castro was and still is the enemy of freedom and capitalism. I am totally ashamed to be a black person after reading Diane Watson’s praise of Castro.
