Middle Class – You didn’t really believe this guy, did you?

Conservative bloggers were practically screaming from the rooftops prior to the election that a President Barack Obama would raise taxes on the middle class. The main stream media won the battle. Their guy got elected. It was time for change and most middle class Americans bought it hook, line and sinker.

I wish we had been wrong. I wish President Obama turned out to be the centrist - the pragmatist - he was billed to be. But he didn’t. And I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. So did my like minded bloggers. Barack Obama and the media sold you a bill of goods, and now we’re all stuck with it.

From the Wall Street Journal:

The liberal establishment is even further along in finally admitting that Mr. Obama wasn’t, er, telling the truth. A piece in the New York Times over the weekend declared in a headline that “the Rich Can’t Pay for Everything, Analysts Say.” And it quoted Leonard Burman, a veteran of the Clinton Treasury who now runs the Brookings Tax Policy Center, as saying that “This idea that everything new that government provides ought to be paid for by the top 5%, that’s a basically unstable way of governing.” They’re right, but where were they during the campaign? [...]

Democrats already plan to repeal the Bush tax cuts, but that won’t raise enough money. So they’re proposing an income tax surcharge on “the wealthy,” but that won’t raise enough either. Democrats have no choice but to soak the middle class because only they have enough money to finance the liberal dream of yoking the middle class to cradle-to-grave government entitlements.

Follow the link above to find out how they will squeeze the middle class.

I’m no apologist for Wall Street. They lost me one third of my life savings while sucking billions in taxpayer dollars. Some of the bonuses they paid this year are more than I hope to make in my lifetime. But I do have a basic understanding of the economy. I know there’s no way the government can continue the spending orgy without serious economic consequences. If you believe you won’t be paying the price you might need an economics lesson. And a civics lesson.

This proves that Bill Maher is correct when he says America is stupid; America elected Slowbama, and they watch Bill Maher.

You know, I have my share of liberal friends and I wonder if all of the warnings I and other conservatives gave them last year will finally sink in. If so, will they finally give conservatism credit?

Yeah, he lied, again and again, but hey, he’s the first black president. That’s gotta count for sumthin’.
