The Senate confirmed the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to the Suprement Court. No surprise there. A liberal replacing a liberal. But people are really happy about this liberal because she’s a “wise Latina woman” (I kno, redundant) and it’s sooooo historic.
Later the Senate found $2 billion to extend Cash for Clunkers. I wonder where they came up with the “cash” part. Maybe it was change they found under the cushions. That or they’re just firing up the printing presses.
The quasi-government agency Fannie Mae (you know – no risk, all reward) needs another $11 billion or so in aid from Big Brother the taxpayers. (And we want these people running our health care?)
Unemployment numbers will be updated any moment now. We’re inching really close to 10% nationally. Hence the big push by the White House to make us think the economy is A-OK!
Speaking of a big push by the White House, they’re advising democrats to “punch back” at all of those well-dressed-tea-bagging-Astro-Turfing-right-wing-funded-by-health-lobbyist-ObummerCare protesters.
