It also reminds me of Michelle Bachman calling Obama and most of Congress Un-American. Or how about the countless conservative pundit loudmouths who would gleefully call us libruhls Un-American for even daring to criticize Bush administration policies. I won't stand by what Pelosi said. I don't think the people showing up and crashing the town hall meetings are Un-American, I just think they're missing the point. Basically, they're being fed misinformation and instructions on how to disrupt the meetings. Showing up and giving your input is one thing. Showing up and shouting down anything that moves in an all-out attempt to make the meeting NOT HAPPEN is quite another thing. While I won't call it Un-American, I'll certainly say that it isn't helpful in any way. If you want to educate yourselves on the actual text of the bill, then come to these meetings and make your voices heard based on legitimate concerns, I applaud that and encourage it. However, I don't think any genuinely critical examination of this bill will reveal rationing or killing of babies and grandmas as some would have you believe.
