According to a recent Rasmussen poll, Americans overwhelmingly would rather see no health care reform than the democrat version of health care reform. This isn’t surprising. What is surprising is the amount of spin coming from the media and democrats.
The democrats control both houses of congress as well as the executive branch. You’d think this would have been easy for them. Rather than blaming republicans, special interests, angry mobs, and “racists”, they ought to be listening to the American people to find out what we really want. They may be surprised. Nobody is against reform. What we’re against is reform that puts control over our health care industry (and our lives) into the hands of government.
Thirty-five percent (35%) of American voters say passage of the bill currently working its way through Congress would be better than not passing any health care reform legislation this year. However, a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that most voters (54%) say no health care reform passed by Congress this year would be the better option.
This does not mean that most voters are opposed to health care reform. But it does highlight the level of concern about the specific proposals that Congressional Democrats have approved in a series of Committees. To this point, there has been no Republican support for the legislative effort although the Senate Finance Committee is still attempting to seek a bi-partisan solution.

As one unhappy with my health insurance, I cannot support any reform that doesn’t include tort reform and an open market so as to buy policies across state lines.
