Hmmm. If unions are so great, why did Boeing workers in South Carolina vote to de-certify their union?
Sounds like good news to me, as reported by the Charleston Post and Currier:
Boeing Co. workers in North Charleston voted overwhelmingly to disband their union in a move that could give the region an edge in landing an aircraft plant the company is looking to build.
Of the 267 ballots cast, 199 were in favor of decertifying the election that made them members of the International Association of Machinists. The company was pleased; the union was disappointed.
The local plant makes rear fuselage sections for Boeing’s 787, a new fast-selling lightweight jet that has been delayed by snags with suppliers and an eight-week strike last year by the IAM.
Boeing has said it would consider North Charleston and its manufacturing hub outside Seattle, among other sites, for a new 787 assembly plant. A decision is expected by the end of the year.
They voted to make their region competitive, meaning they voted for long term financial stability and prosperity. Good for them!
I need to move.

Yes how very smart of them seeing as they’re in one of the very few states that doesn’t even abide by the Federal Minimum Wage rates.
I’d love to see their faces when they take pay cut after pay cut after pay cut until they’re all making six dollars an hour – LOL!
I know this because as a recently transplanted NY’er I applied for an office manager position for a company in Fort Mill – which is not a small S.C. town -that bids on gov’t contracts.
The owner that interviewed me (there were 2 owners) was from THE BRONX and after he told me of the myriad of things he expected me to do (quite obnoxiously I might add) including scrubbing the toilets and working weekends at a flat rate of pay whenever he felt like having me work weekends….he told me my “salary” would be 6.25 and hour.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
