How Far Does the ACORN Fall From the Tree?

The Senate last evening voted overwhelmingly to deny any more federal funding for ACORN. That is surprising, not just for the fact that 90% of the Senate agreed on something, but because ACORN never did anything wrong. Well, that’s the story from them and the MSM anyway. Let us not forget how friendly and cozy ACORN and the Democrats have been election after election. ACORN is completely non-partisan though. Let us also not forget that Obama was a young lawyer working for ACORN fighting the good fight as a fellow community activist.

What ACORN really excels at is being a front organization. Glenn Beck and some brave investigative reporters are slowly untangling the web of corruption which was weaved by some very resourceful and clever progressive, left wing radicals. Who exactly these figures are has yet to be seen, but the power of the organization is undeniable and frighteningly severe. Is the Democrat party beholden to them or is it the other way around? I am leaning to the former.

This leads me back to the vote. 7 foolish (or brave depending on your perspective) Senators voted to continue funding for ACORN. Among them was the fresh, new Senator from New York - Kirsten Gillibrand. She seems to either feel quite comfortable voting for radical, corrupt organizations or is too indebted to them to vote otherwise. Either reason for her actions is not attractive or politically smart. She then must feel quite safe which leads us to wonder how thick this blanket of corruption is.

America needs a full, truthful investigation to follow the ACORNs to the roots to the canopy and determine how far the shadow of this giant tree falls and what it will take to fell it. Oh, and to you Senator Gillibrand – we’ll see you in 2010.

You may have missed my ‘quick hits’ post below. Remember when Gillibrand was sold as a blue dog conservative? And McCain abstained on the vote, along with Lindsay Graham and a few other RINOs. I just read that some in the GOP are demanding an investigation into ACORN. Who knows how far that’ll go.

Investigation into ACORN?, Investigation into Chas. Rangel? Hold your breath. The tooth fairy will be here son, too. Remember that McCain voted for the bill that gave ACORN $8 Billion. And this was the Rep. canditate for pres. God help us.

    This runs deep.

Who has received how much from ACORN and or any of it’s associate organizations.

Keep in mind, a standard practise for these organizations upon discovery is to close down and start up someplace else with a different name.

I say we get ride of ALL OF THEM and start anew.

IMO: Too many Repubs are either in bed with these peeps or have no huevos to stand up to them.

Also. Bipartisan is just another word for concede to the Dems.

Oh, believe me, I am not naïve enough to think the corrupted can investigate the corruptors. It will take more honest, brave souls to bring this monster down. It will probably take a few years and likely a few elections to completely unravel it. Unless, of course, someone within decides to pull down the curtain. There are those with R’s who will fall from this as well – and that is good. The GOP needs to purge.

He does. I’ll post video when available. And I read somewhere that McCain has pandered to ACORN in the past. See my earlier post and comments – McCain abstained from voting.
