Politico reports that House Minority Leader John Boehner blasted President Obama’s trip to Copenhagen to sell Chicago to the Olympic Committee.
“Listen I think it’s a great idea to promote Chicago but he’s the president of the United States, not the mayor of Chicago,” Boehner said. “And the problems we have here at home affect all Americans and that’s where his attention ought to be.”
Republicans need to be more understanding. Don’t they realize the president has cronies to pay back?

So come on Republicans, lighten up! He’s just doing what Chicago politicians do. What did you expect?
Everyone paying for their own health care? Sounds nice… but not everyone can. Especially with the unreal and disgusting cost. Even a routine appt. requires serious budgeting. Especially for my demographic.
I am a recent college graduate, with a suprisingly great post college job. Unfortunately I do not qualify for health insurance benefits. Many people graduate from college and are exciled from the student health center and booted from their parent’s plan. We find ourselves struggling to survive on our own, many for the first time.
Any public option would be welcomed. And when my job wants to provide benefits, they will be at a lower cost. I hear these crazy rumors about death panels…well? It is true and they have been around for years-private health insurance companies. They are deciding who gets to live.
I am dissapoointed all around in what our government has become and I am scared for the future I am being handed. All parties are to blame. Stop bickering and solve some problems. That is why we put you there.

“me me me brat”?
A public option gives the PUBLIC an OPTION! And I am defining a great job as something I love to do and is putting my degree to work. I am one of the lucky ones who is not out serving tables after receiving their degree. A great job does not mean great money or great/any benefits.
Please do not take “struggling to survive” literally. But the cost of living increases dramatically post grad. Just ask the over 60% of post grads who make the decision to move back in with their parents.
We graduate and are at entry level positions that do not qualify us for benefits. Meantime, we no longer qualify for our parent’s coverage.
I can only speak for my demographic. But there is a clear need for a change. We need to stop putting lives in the hands of insurance companies. I just paid $70 for a prescription cough medicine. WTF? to that.

I actually sympathize with you. You have been sold a bill of goods and you have received a horribly inadequate education. That isn’t to imply you are stupid, just totally uninformed of the facts. I would ask you to stop being emotional, and start being objective, when researching the facts of how the US insurance program came to be the disaster it is. You will find the Progressive movement at the helm, I assure you. And, dear, “public option” means I would ultimately have to pay higher taxes to pay for your doctor visit. What gives you the right to my hard earned money? The biggest, and seriously most important question you need to answer is this: If healthcare is YOUR right, WHO will be enslaved to provide it to you? No one has a RIGHT that must be provided by another human being. If you have a brain, a conscience, and a heart, I don’t see how you could fail to understand that concept. The best of luck to you.
