Well, Fox News is the exception. Here’s Major Garrett saying he asked if Van Jones filled out the 63 question questionnaire required of all White House employees. Guess what – Jones didn’t fill it out – that’s because Jones is one of them. I don’t believe for one minute that President Obama didn’t know exactly who Van Jones is and what he stands for.
Contrast that coverage with CNN. The host says Jones was hired to create jobs, blah, blah, blah. And this columnist, David Sirota, has the nerve to call Glenn Beck and “conservative activists” political terrorists who targeted Jones because he’s black. Geez!
Of course we can’t leave out MSNBC’s lunatic Keith Olbermann. He sent out the message to get him “everything you can about Glenn Beck.” If only Glenn Beck hated America the left and the MSM would adore him. How dare he question any of Obama’s unelected, communist czars?
Glenn Beck released the following statement on Jones’s resignation. (Via Free Republic):
The American people stood up and demanded answers. Instead of providing them, the Administration had Jones resign under cover of darkness. I continue to be amazed by the power of everyday Americans to initiate change in our government through honest questioning, and judging by the other radicals in the administration, I expect that questioning to continue for the foreseeable future.
Oh yeah, what a terrorist. He has questions! Oooh! What a boogeyman!
My local paper only printed a slanted AP story on Jones’s resignation.
President Barack Obama’s environmental adviser Van Jones, who became embroiled in a controversy over past inflammatory statements, has resigned his White House job after what he calls a “vicious smear campaign against me.”
The resignation, announced early Sunday, came as Obama is working to regain his footing in the contentious health care debate.
Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly “green jobs” with the White House Council on Environmental Quality was linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the 2001 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.
[...]
Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck repeatedly denounced Jones after a group the adviser co-founded, ColorofChange.org, led an advertising boycott against Beck’s show to protest his claim that Obama is a racist.
James Rucker, the organization’s executive director, has said Jones had nothing to do with ColorofChange.org now and didn’t even know about the campaign before it started.
Jones, well-known in the environmental movement, was a civil-rights activist in California before shifting his attention to environmental and energy issues. He is known for laying out a broad vision of a green economy. Conservatives have harshly criticized him for having left-wing political views.
There’s a bit more to the story than Jones being a Truther and calling Republicans a-holes. And Glenn Beck raised questions about Van Jones before the advertising boycott. So not only is the AP story slanted, it’s bogus.
Update: This takes the cake! The media doesn’t do it’s job, and lament the fact that bloggers have to do it for them!
