Quick Hits 9/15/09

I’ll be out of commission for the rest of the afternoon and possibly this evening. Here’s the latest:

Using taxpayer money to fund brothels and hide under-age prostitution slaves doesn’t seem to bother New York’s Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. She voted against the bill to cut off funding to ACORN.  She was joined by seven other senators. And unfortunately, McCain abstained, along with a group of RINOs.

Obama lost his bounce. The president enjoyed a small bump in the polls after his health care speech last week. Rasmussen reports that support for his health care reform is back to the pre-speech levels.

Ouch! The Wall Street Journal compares Obama’s protectionism to that of Herbert Hoover. I thought he cared about world poverty? If so, why is he in favor of policies that will surely lead to more poverty in the world?

Ouch again! Bret Stephens, also writing in The Wall Street Journal, contends that Obama is pushing Israel toward war with Iran.

One thing all Americans seem to agree on today is that Kanye West is a jackass.

Charlie Gibson must think we were all born yesterday. He says he didn’t cover the ACORN scandal because he didn’t know about it. Either he’s lying or grossly uninformed. Either way I wouldn’t want to get my news from the guy.

Obama’s spending the day pandering to unions. What a surprise.

Oh my! The ACORN investigation only gets more sordid. Reportedly, Glenn Beck will reveal a new tape – this one of a California ACORN worker admitting to prior prostitution and murder! This ought to be good. I promise to do my very best to bring you the video as soon as it’s available.

  1. ZORRO says:

Good luck today, L.C. Hope all goes well for you. When you get a chance, can tou let us know who the other RINOS are who abstained from the ACORN vote? These people never have to account for anything they do. The Rep. Sen. Committee will just have more and more trouble collecting money to help these phoneys. They’ll get no more from me!

  2. Thanks, it’s over. Now it just hurts.

ACORN Vote: Not voting: McCain, Vitter, Grahamnesty, Hutchison, Coburn, Burr, and Gregg
