Soda Tax Myths

Politicians are gunning to tax our soda. They can’t resist. They say it’s for our own good, when we all know they’ll tax anything they can get away with rather than cut a budget.

Thanks to Katherine Mangu-Ward we can put all their stale arguments to rest once and for all. Ms. Ward debunks the five biggest myths about the soda tax. A soda tax won’t cure obesity. It won’t help everyone. High fructose corn syrup is no worse than table sugar. A soda tax isn’t for our own good, and allowing the state to tax anything that’s bad for us a road we don’t want to go down. Follow the link to find out why.

    Not only would a soda tax not prevent obesity and dramatically increase food taxes, but it might also mean the end the American institution of free refills.
