Check out the scene for an Oakland County, MI flu clinic documented by Blogprof. (Via Free Republic)
What a nightmare, thousands waiting in the cold and rain for seven hours. Those who pre-registered didn’t have to wait as long, not that anyone from the county bothered to tell anyone.
I called our family doctor last month to schedule my family’s yearly flu shots. I was told they aren’t doing flu shots this year and to sign up for a drug store clinic. The drug stores won’t vaccinate children under the age of 9. I was directed to some national vaccination hot line and was told they could vaccinate the kids, but I’d have to snail mail them a check, and if the check didn’t clear before our appointment date we’d be out of luck. That’s when I contacted our county and made an appointment for the county flu shot clinic. It’s the same price we paid at the doctor, and it isn’t covered by our insurance. Not that I care, it’s worth the 90 bucks to protect my entire family from the flu. Hopefully we won’t see lines like they did in Oakland County, MI. I read in the paper the other day that all Onondaga County clinics are now full.
God help us when the government takes over health care in America, don’t expect to squeeze a trip to the family doc into a lunch hour.

This is a perfect little example of what we have to look forward to with the gov’t option. Just multiply it by a factor of 100 and you’ll get the general idea. This debacle over a flu vaccine… Good grief….. This should have been a no-brainer.
