Massive Transfer of Wealth to Detroit Residents

Update Here’s more video of the chaos in Detroit, from inside. What a mob scene. Notice the reporters and those in line act like it’s totally normal for thousands of people to show up for government freebies. Their only concern is the chaos that ensued. As if that wasn’t to be expected.

Did you hear about thousands of Detroit residents who lined up yesterday to receive their “share” of $15 million in stimulus funds set aside to help poor people in Detroit “pay their bills?” Click here to watch the video.

If you watched the video may have noticed that nobody looks like they’ve been starving. One woman complained about waiting so long because her hip hurt. Poor baby. Another woman didn’t mind waiting four hours because she was going to get some free money. At least she was honest. Unfortunately for these people, they didn’t receive $3000 checks that day, only the chance to apply for the funds. I’m sure it was disappointing to have to wait even longer for their wealth transfer checks.

What the video depicts is the culmination of decades of progressive policies and the war on poverty. Things are only getting worse. Uncle Sam’s plantation is expanding exponentially. That $15 million isn’t intended to stimulate anything. It isn’t going to create jobs. All it’s doing is keeping people on Uncle Sam’s plantation – with Barack Obama as the slave master.

It’s kind of ironic this occurred a day or so after Glenn Beck brought up Deepak Bhargava on his show.

In the video below Beck is talking to Scott Baker. Mr. Baker provides a little background information on Deepack Bhargava:

-He does not work in the White House.

-He runs the Center for Community Change.

-He worked for ACORN for 10 years.

-He went to Harvard at the same time as Barack Obama.

-He launched the National Campaign for Jobs and Income Support in 2000 – describing it as the marriage of labor and the poor. Coincidentally, Barack Obama was there for the launch of the organization.

-Bhargava’s group held an event in 2007 which Barack Obama attended. They asked candidate Obama if he would include them in his agenda and he promised he would.

-After the election Obama said he wasn’t going to wait for his inauguration to include them. Beck plays video from December 2008 where Bhargava appeared with (now) White House officials and declared it was time to get to work on a “new economy for shared prosperity.”

What do you think Bhargava meant by “a new economy for shared prosperity?” I believe he meant exactly what we saw in Detroit. Thousands of voters lining up for free money from their fellow citizens. Millions of taxpayer dollars, handed out to those who did not earn it. The government either printed or borrowed the money and the rest of us - and future generations - will have to pay it back. And they’ve only just begun.

Bhargava confirmed our suspicions in April of 2009:

Just to give you a sense of the dimensions of what has been accomplished in a very short period of time, there’s been the largest public expenditure on anti-poverty programs hitting on the very poorest people in this country in 40 years. All of this adding up to 3, 4, 5, $6,000 in literal income to someone making 4, 5, $6,000 a year or $10,000 a year. That’s an extraordinary achievement.

It has certainly been a stealthy agenda — meaning: The administration has chosen not to lead with questions of poverty or racial justice.

To that all I can say is “Who is John Galt?”
