Things are looking up for Doug Hoffman

By

As Ace of Spades notes, it’s a weak poll due to the low number of voters sampled, but it’s still good news for the Hoffman campaign.

The poll of 300 likely voters, conducted October 24-25, 2009, shows Conservative Doug Hoffman at 31.3%, Democrat Bill Owens at 27.0%, Republican Dede Scozzafava at 19.7%, and 22% undecided. The poll’s margin of error is +/- 5.66%. No information was provided about any of the candidates prior to the ballot question.

I work in the small town of Chittenango, NY which is in the southernmost part of NY23. This morning I took Route 173 into the office and when I got near town the first sign I saw was for Bill Owens. About a block later I saw a Scozzafava sign. (Her signs are weird looking – they look old and faded.) That’s all I saw until I broke for lunch, at which time I decided to drive up Route 5. While there weren’t a whole lot of signs, I’d say they split 60/40 between Hoffman and Scozzafava. I only saw one other Owens sign. This is a small town and I don’t claim it represents the entire district, but it was another good sign.
