Wow!

BREAKING: Scozzafava suspends NY 23 campaign

Republican Dede Scozzafava has suspended her bid in next Tuesday’s NY 23 special election, a huge development that dramatically shakes up the race. She did not endorse either of her two opponents — Conservative party candidate Doug Hoffman or Democrat Bill Owens.

Her statement:

I disagree with Ms. Scozzafava on many issues, however, she made the right decision and I respect her for that.

I was at the CNY Patriots rally last evening – it was great. I would say about 40 people were there at one point. We ended the evening with prayer – God works in great ways – I believe this is one of those ways – now just keep praying.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t share in LC’s respect for her in pulling out of the race. Dede had no respect for her Party’s platform. In my opinion, only by sheer overwhelming opposition by her Party members did she quit because the decision was made for her. She is the quintessential problem child of the Republican Party. I’m glad she’s out and good riddens! Dede and her ilk must never have an opportunity to have a voice in the Republican Party again. She can now be free to have that effective voice in the Democrat Party with people like Arlen Spector, she’ll fit right in.

I’m so sad that we didn’t make it to the rally last night.

I have a lot more respect for Dede now because at least she isn’t going to be the reason for Hoffman losing. I really hope that this pulls him over the edge. I only wish that I had the privileged of voting for him.

i agree with michigan. i still have no respect for scozzalib. she’s getting out b/c it’s her only option. she knew she was going to finish dead last, and hoffman had a pretty good chance of winning even with her IN the race. in addition, she claims to ride along on the GOP train, all the while taking opposing views on many/most issues. she got what she deserved. and the GOP will continue to marginalize itself as long as it accepts the likes of scozzalib, snowe, collins, specter. i will never support the GOP as long as they continue to accept and support RINOs.

    Just wait.

The libs and mainstream are gonna talk sh!t about how us real conservatives are having an effect on an election.

They just don’t get it do they?
