Word out of the Capitol is that the democrats are scrambling to get the votes for their health (choke) reform plan. The blue dogs are scared, as they should be.
ResistNet has contact information for every blue dog. You can call, fax, email or twitter. Just do something.
C-Span is covering the floor debate live. You can watch that here.
I’ll try to bring more updates later. (Houseguests)
Update:
To NY 25 residents – Dan Maffei isn’t on the ResistNet list but the local paper said he’s on the fence. He does that, I know, but we can call and remind him of his town hall meetings last summer. His number is (202) 225-3701. I think it’s off the hook, because it’s been busy for the past half hour. I’ll keep trying. You can send him an email.
To NY 23 residents – you new representative already broke a campaign pledge. He said he’ll vote for the bill.
Update 2: Here’s the latest list of undecideds. The fate of this bill rests with them.
Update 3: Politico reported that the final vote won’t happen until around 11 PM. The debate is taking longer than expected. Rep. McCotter is on Fox News (5:09 PM) and just said he thinks the democrats might have the votes. It’s unclear at this time how it’s going to unfold.
Addendum: I guess Pelosi needs more time to twist arms. McCotter just said the democrats are leaving a skid mark on history.
