Update: (Saturday) Now I’m really back. It was so nice to visit family and old friends, not to mention the much needed rest, but there’s nothing like coming home. We even made it back in time to put up some Christmas decorations. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving this year. I’ve been off line since Wednesday afternoon. It’s a good thing I scheduled my “Happy Thanksgiving” post ahead of time. I should have tested my cell-phone-as-internet-connection before heading out of town, but I didn’t. Wednesday evening I called AT&T to find out why it wasn’t working and the two people I spoke to failed to let me know they have a “laptop connect” department. I gave it another shot yesterday after dinner. After huddling outside in the cold where I found a tenuous internet connection, changing my cell account to include tethering and downloading needed software I was up and running. Then I went to bed!
So, I’m back. I won’t be posting as much as usual because the “high speed connection” isn’t so high speed. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I did – it was kind of nice not thinking about the statists for a day and a half.
Glad you’re back. Sorry you had computer problems. During your hiatus, each time I would contact your site and see the turkey graphic on top, I would think how much you deserved a vacation. Too bad it wasn’t a vacation after all. Thanks for your news gathering and insights.

Thanks, Soldier. I think I relaxed more in the past 36 hours than I have in the past 36 months! I’m back home now. Once we get all of our Christmas decorations up I’ll be back to normal! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.
