Obama isn’t watching the election returns – Probably watching The Biggest Loser instead

Of course the democrats are down playing today’s elections. It doesn’t bode well for their future. As I write this Chris Christie is up in New Jersey, the bluest of blue states. Bob McDonnell’s won Virginia - in fact, it looks like Republicans swept the state. And Doug Hoffman has the lead in NY 23. No wonder Obama says he isn’t watching the elections. Maybe he’s watching The Biggest Loser.

Politico reported:

Hours after urging reporters not to draw sweeping conclusions from Tuesday’s gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told POLITICO President Barack Obama wasn’t keeping an eye on the results.

“He’s not watching returns,” Gibbs said.

The Obama administration and other top Democrats have consistently tried to play down the import of this week’s contests, which Republicans have sought to portray as a referendum on the Democratic-led government in Washington.
