Obama’s Most Frequent House Guest: We Need to ‘Spread the Wealth’

Here’s video of SEIU’s Andy Stern, Obama’s most frequent visitor to the White House, talking to CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo about the “223 year old problem” known as capitalism.

This guy is a piece of work. I notice he’s pretty well dressed for someone so concerned about spreading the wealth. I wonder how much that suit set him back. Via Town Hall, a partial transcript:

Bartiromo: So I’ve got this article here; it’s says that yourself and other labor union leaders reportedly gave Democrats some $400 million last year. Do you feel that that money has been well-spent? Let me ask you about your #1 goal, which of course is card check. A lot of people feel that’s dead.

Stern: Well I think what we now know is American workers need a raise; that is pretty clear. And there isn’t a lot of money in the government to do it. So the question is how is everyone going to share in the wealth? And I think that after we get through this health care situation and finally solve this problem of 223 years, you know, we are going to see a change in our labor laws that allow people to negotiate their future. [...]

Bartiromo: How does the labor movement survive in an increasingly globalized and technology-advanced world. Obviously jobs are going abroad, technology is taking a lot of our jobs. What do you need to do?

Stern: Well I got in trouble for saying this with Glenn Beck, but I said ‘workers of the world unite’ is not just a slogan anymore, it’s a way we need to do our work. And we’re involved with unions all over the world, trying to figure how do we raise workers’ wages everywhere, ’cause we don’t want corporations competing in who can pay the least. And that means company went global, finance went global, capital went global, unions are going to have to go global as well.

He goes on to talk about union growth in the health care industry. God help us. What he doesn’t mention is how the unions are bankrupting the government. According to the Heritage Foundation, 50% of union workers are government employees. Stern acknowledged that government is running out of money. What’s he shooting for? Some sort of one world government taking over the corporations of the world?

This guy just makes me want to vomit. Why doesn’t he spread his own wealth if he is so concerned?

The Obama Administration provides the best last-ditch effort to save private sector unions. The federal government has 37% of its workers in unions, but the private sector has fewer than 10% of its workers in unions. In New Hampshire this week, the non-union workers scored a victory in that they will be allowed to bid for federal contracts without “union” rules and dues that had been imposed by the Obama Administration.

In research I had done a couple months ago, I found that unions are historically a tool of Communism and revolution. In working per my job with some unions, I have come to the conclusion that a fine line must be walked between unions and employers……and not every employer needs to be unionized. Yes, the unions have contributed to the loss of productive jobs in the U.S. [which is a biggie], but we certainly don’t want to go back to Haymarket episodes of the 19th century…..or the Carnegie strikers’ deaths of the early 20th century.

I can’t think of any recent President who paid homage to the unions like the Obama Administration. It is definitely too much and way over the top. It wouldn’t be so horrifying if we didn’t all know the aggressiveness of union tactics.

Does this thug have to check his brass knuckles at the door when he enters the WH?
