Oh My! AP Calls Heath Care Bill DOA in the Senate

Via NewsBusters, AP (that oh-so conservative bastion of unbiased reporting) reported:

Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and “take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people.”

The problem is that the Senate won’t run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate.

If a government plan is part of the deal, “as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote,” said Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Connecticut independent whose vote Democrats need to overcome GOP filibusters.

“The House bill is dead on arrival in the Senate,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said dismissively.

Democrats did not line up to challenge him. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has yet to schedule floor debate and hinted last week that senators may not be able to finish health care this year.

I don’t think we’re out of the woods yet. The democrats have made it perfectly clear they will do whatever it takes to ram this down our throats. Public opinion doesn’t matter a whit to them. The White House thugs will surely pull out every dirty trick up their sleeve to pressure vulnerable democrats and bribe the liberal republicans. Which means no rest for weary bloggers like me, at least in the near future. I’ve never been one to be happy to pay someone for doing nothing, but in the case of this Congress, sending them home on a long vacation would be money well spent.

Any MSM type with half a brain can see this is serious stuff and will jump ship to stay alive.

It’s not over “until the fat lady sings” and she hasn’t even armed up yet.

Now is time to WRITE not e-mail your elected reps.

Send them a letter and another and another and one more after that.

I live in the state capitol of where I live. Whenever I run across a politician I give them an earfull as our elected representative no long listen to us. They ALL try to say “That’s not me” or some other LAME spewage. You should see the look o their face when I tell them the jig is up and that the voters know the deal and the incubents are on their way OUT.

David – Yep! Thanks. It’s been corrected. I’m getting used to the screen on this new netbook of mine. Editing is a bit of a problem.
