President Obama had a lot of nerve telling Congress to hold off on investigating the Ft. Hood massacre. It’s not like they’re planning to interfere with the FBI investigation. The job of Congress is to investigate how Hasan slipped through the cracks.
Well, finally a little good news. The Senate isn’t going to wait for a green light from Obama. Politico reported:
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) plans to hold a committee hearing this week searching for clues about why the accused Fort Hood shooter was never flagged as a danger to troops on the base.
Appearing Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Leahy said Congress would be keeping close watch on the investigation.
“We don’t want to step on things that will make it more difficult for prosecutors, but obviously in this Congress, we have reason for oversight,” Leahy said.
The ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, Michigan Rep. Peter Hoekstra, indicated that congressional investigations will help pressure the government to speed up its release of information about the alleged shooter.
The agendas conflict but neither one is in the best interest of the National Security.
Big Ear wants to run interference on the connections to Islam.
The Dems want to find a scapegoat to demean the Military, the Intelligence Community and ultimately the Bush administration.
We are WAR coupled with a financial crisis looming and they are too busy playing politics.
God bless our troops and keep them safe, the Libs surely won’t do so.
