What a lousy way to start the day – Debbie Wasserman Shultz getting the last word

Right before I left for work this morning I caught the exchange between Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz (D-FL) on Fox and Friends. (Video below) Unfortunately, Wasserman Shultz was able to get in the last word because Gretchen Carlson had to end it for breaking news. It’s been bugging me, so I thought I’d get in the last word.

The segmant begins with a clip of Nancy Pelosi stuttering about how “scandalous” the GOP health care plan is because it fails to end the “discrimination” against pre-existing conditions. That in itself was enough to put me in a foul mood. But then Wasserman Shutz, in her robotic voice, obediently parroted democrat talking points and said democrats care about health insurance reform and republicans don’t. My eight year old could have delivered a more intellectually stimulating argument. But democrats were never known for their intellectualism. With them it’s all about the slogans.

Mike Pence was given a few moments to respond. He said they don’t have the votes. (Let’s hope he’s right.)  He questioned the wisdom of passing a $1.2 trillion government take over of health care - paid for with more than $700 billion in tax increases - at a time when unemployment is (we now know) over 10%. Now that’s scandalous.

Pence was interrupted so Gretchen could ask Wasserman Shultz if Tuesday’s elections were a referendum against PelosiCare. (My word.) Not to mention yesterday’s rally at the Capitol and the fact that half the American public is against their version of health care reform. Wasserman Shultz had the nerve to retort “On the contrary.” As if half the country isn’t against their plan and the DC “Kill the Bill” rally never occurred. The most outrageous thing she said was that NY23 was one of the only races about national issues. She obviously wasn’t following the NY 23 contest very closely. Had she been, she’d know the reason Hoffman lost is that he was hammered by the local press for NOT focusing on local issues.

Wasserman Shultz and all of her comrades in the House would do well to take note of the mood of the country. Independents are running away from her party in droves. The writing’s on the wall if she cares to read it. It’s safe to assume she and the rest of her ilk are willing to put their political careers on the line for their collective utopian dream.

Update: Wasserman Shultz also lied, or at least told a half truth, when she said Owens campaigned on the dems version of health care reform. He campaigned against the public option. Maybe he told her and her colleagues something else. Either way, it only took a few moments for him to break his campaign pledge.

Any fault found with the Repub bill is trivial to the friggin’ MONSTROSITY the Socialists are trying to pass.

    Oh…Did I say Socialist?

Your damn skippy I did. **FVCKERS**

    Pre-existing conditions example:

You don’t have car insurance, get in a crash and THEN expect an insurance company to write a policy that will cover you.

HELLO McFLY! Does ANYONE see how backwards that is?
