I haven’t spent a lot of time covering Sarah Palin’s book or her media appearances because she’s getting so much coverage, you’ve probably heard it all by now.
But I was surprised to find that the liberal Media Matters criticized Newsweek for their sexist coverage of Sarah Palin.

Now, this photograph may have been completely appropriate for the cover of the magazine for which the picture was apparently intended, Runners World. But Newsweek is supposed to be a serious newsmagazine, and the magazine is certainly not reporting on Palin’s exercise habits.
Like her or not, Palin is a former governor and vice presidential candidate. She deserves the same respect every single one of her male counterparts receives when they are featured on the cover of the magazine. I must have missed the cover of Vice President Joe Biden in short shorts or of Mitt Romney in a bathing suit.
Newsweek‘s sexist treatment of Palin doesn’t get any better inside its pages. …
I can’t say wether Media Matters goes after Keith Olbermann with such vigor. Somehow I doubt it. But at least they got this one right. The media’s treatment of Sarah Palin has been grotesque to witness. No matter what one thinks of Sarah Palin’s ideas, the campaign or the job she did as governor, no American should tolerate this shoddy “reporting” by the media.

Why, do you suppose, does Sarah Palin scare these people so much? Because it is clear that they certainly do….whatever it is, we need to do it, too!
