Boo Hoo! Vitter Blocks Vote Tonight
ByBoo hoo! Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) wanted the Senate to vote on the health care bill and the debt limit bill tonight so they can all get home for Christmas dinner. Senator David Vitter (R-Louisiana) objected, twice. Harkin huffed “I just want people to know who’s keeping us here.” That’s when James Risch (R-Idaho) chimed in: “I ask unanimous consent that the vote refered to by Senator Harkin take place at two PM on January 20, 2010 when we return.” There were objections.
