Dennis Miller talked to Bill O’Reilly last night about the White House Party crashers. He said “At least Obama didn’t bow to them.”

There’s an interesting twist to this story. The Secret Service has taken full responsibility for the gate crashers, and the agents responsible may be terminated. But what about the White House Social Secretary, Desiree Rogers? It looks like she’s more interested in appearing glamorous for magazine photos than doing her job, and the White House is protecting her. They even raised separation of powers to keep her from testifying before congress. She’s one of Obama’s Chicago cronies and best pals with Valerie Jarrett. Michelle Malkin has the tale of how Rogers stripped the White House “assistant for special arrangements,” Cathy Hargraves, of her duties at State Dinners. Hargraves was a holdover from the Bush White House and wound up quitting when Rogers told her it wasn’t necessary for her to work at state dinners overseeing invitations, greeting guests and checking their names off the guest list. She was told they probably wouldn’t be having many parties because we’re in a recession and it wouldn’t look good. (I nearly spit my Diet Coke all over my computer monitor when I read that line.) So it makes perfect sense that the Obama administration doesn’t want Rogers talking to congress.
