Obama’s finding out the rest of the world isn’t as enamored of him as he once believed. He probably thought if he committed to signing away our sovereignty and economic security, that the rest of the world would bow down and do exactly as he instructs them to do. He’s learning the hard way that the world doesn’t work that way. Sure, China probably wouldn’t mind seeing us taken down a peg or two, except maybe we wouldn’t be able to make interest payments on all of our debt. But they aren’t about to run on their sword to please America’s Dear Leader.
Politico reported Obama was visibly angry during his speech in Copenhagen today.
A visibly angry Barack Obama threw down the gauntlet at China and other developing nations Friday, declaring that the time has come “not to talk but to act” on climate change. Emerging from a multinational meeting boycotted by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Obama warned delegates that U.S. offers of funding for poor nations would remain on the table “if and only if” developing nations, including China, agreed to international monitoring of their greenhouse gas emissions.
”I have to be honest, as the world watches us … I think our ability to take collective action is in doubt and it hangs in the balance,” Obama told the COP-15 plenary session as hope faded for anything more than a vague political agreement.
“The time for talk is over, this is the bottom line: We can embrace this accord, take a substantial step forward. We can do that, and everyone who is in this room will be part of an historic endeavor, or we can choose delay,” he said.
The good news is that Obama isn’t getting his way. No wonder he’s so mad.

Gerald Warner calls the “third rate cast of extras” on the stage in Copenhagen a bunch of buffoons.

We are simply observing immaturity and petulance. Not uncommon among children that don’t get their way. This is how he reacts every time the slightest amount of pressure is exerted on his rule. He’s loosing on this and stomping feet and whining only make him feel better. Children usually mature and grow out of this, but this is a full-grown man that makes kids look good. The American people will give him a “time out” in 2012.

The really scary thing about him is the amount of OUR money and freedoms and security he will give away to overcome this lack of universal love and worship that he so desperately demands at our expense.

Lonely Conservative, you mentioned U.S. sovereignty. The beautiful thing to me that came out of Copenhagen was that China refused to allow monitoring of its carbon emissions actions because it would infringe on their “national sovereignty.” Sounds like the Chinese have it right, and the “buffoons” from the U.S. don’t mind giving away U.S. sovereignty.
