President of Teachers Union: Public Schools Are Agents of Social Justice
ByThese people are everywhere.
Watching and listening to AFT’s president, Randi Weingarten, made my skin crawl. She was speaking at John Podesta’s Center for American Progress about the role of teachers and schools in society. She said public schools and teachers should act as agents of social justice. She also said teachers should “do more than simply instruct children seven hours a day.” In her view, schools need to be the center of communities to level the playing field. She even managed to take a swipe at President Bush.
To these people education isn’t about teaching children history, reading, writing and math. It’s about indoctrination into a destructive ideology that kills the soul.
They’re doing such a bang up job at social justice – fast food is safer than school lunches. That’s because fast food joints have standards and rely on the free market. But schools can’t do that because people like Ms. Weingarten would be the first to go. No, instead they do their best to shut down their competition, which Obama helped them do in Washington, DC.

Randi Weingarten has openly admitted what I have been commenting and complaining about in several of your recent posts LC. Public schools are all about indoctrination of Marxist / Socialist ideology of American children. Parents and taxpayers must get a handle on this agenda of the left. Every day that goes by, the school systems pump out another Obama, Marx, Mao, or worse. The leftists like Ms. Weingarten, Bill Ayers and the Tides Foundation are using our schools against us. They are the gardeners of anti-Americanism and the children are their seeds. Well intentioned parents cannot counteract the damaging effects of hours of classroom indoctrination with after school time or weekends as short as they are. Teachers in this 24/7/365 world unfortunately have more influence than parents. Internal national turmoil will continue until the source and genesis of this heinous propagandizing and brainwashing is stopped cold.
All I can do right now is to keep putting this information out there. Unless people know what’s happening it’s never going to change. I honestly believe most normal Americans do not want this.
It’s really a criminal enterprise, in my opinion. They take our money in taxes so we’re stuck with their schools.
Yes, I know. Notice how Ms. Weingarten pays particular attention to “poor kids”. This is a typical leftist strategy to play off from. Use the weak and malcontent to drive wedges and “level the playing field” instead of fulfilling individual hopes and dreams by using knowledge and education (their job). This is how extremisms begin. This is what happens in third world countries controlled by despots. She is administrative filth putting ideology above education.
They’re everywhere. It’s not like this is contained to just a few of these people here and there. Now they’re getting bold. Maybe their boldness is a good thing. In the age of YouTube and 24/7 news it makes it easier to expose what they really have in store for us.
I’m so old that I remember when teachers’ mission was to teach. I don’t believe that things have imporoved in our schools.
