Flashback 2005: Obama to Republicans “Step Back” and “Save Face”

In 2005 only 35% of Americans were in favor of President Bush’s plan to privatize Social Security. Obama said the “American people have essentially voted” on the issue. His advise for the Republicans was to step back and save face. Only 30% of Americans like Obama’s health care plan, too bad he won’t take his own advice.
