Daily Caller: President Obama is going to Massachusetts to campaign for Democratic candidate Martha Coakley on Sunday, knowledgeable Democratic sources tell the Daily Caller.
The trip is an enormous political risk for the president, but also an indication that the White House believes that the situation is as dire as the latest poll suggest.
Republican Scott Brown has surged out of nowhere over the last week to pull ahead of Coakley, who has committed a series of gaffes this week. …..
That last line kind of explains why they aren’t sending Joe Biden. Why, Biden and Coakley campaigning together would be simply gaffetastic! Imagine – Biden would have explained how terribly inconvenient it was that Haiti was devastated by an earthquake the week before the special election. And speaking of gafftastic – the DSCC ran a negative ad against Scott Brown with images of the World Trade Center. They’ve since removed the ad from You Tube.
