The news has been on all day while I’ve been working and it’s breaking my heart seeing these orphans in Haiti and their adoptive parents who can’t bring them home to the US. Apparently, the bureaucrats at the US State Department are holding things up. Now is not the time for red tape, especially for the children whose adoptions were nearly finalized before the earthquake hit.
Update: I’m watching Fox News. The children on TV right now have all been LEGALLY adopted already. All they need is for the State Department to give them the green light to bring the kids home to the US. Some of the babies don’t have food or water. Infants are being fed regular milk because they have no formula. They need to get those kids out of there. This is absolutely heart breaking. They have loving parents and warm comfortable homes waiting for them. There is a plane waiting for them in the Dominican Republic. The could be here in the US tonight, all they need is the okay from the State Department. What the heck are they waiting for?
Update 2: Fox News reported that the State Department finally did the right thing for these poor kids.
