John Stossel Special: Crony Capitalism

I saw part of John Stossel’s new special, Crony Capitalism, earlier today on television. This is more must-see-TV that you can watch right here.

That is when Big Business uses the clout of Big Government to get special privileges or protect themselves from the raw competition of the free market.  My first example is the story of a little window manufacturer, Serious Materials.

If you’ve read Atlas Shrugged, this will all sound very familiar to you. Toy companies, window companies, hedge funds, tobacco companies, technology companies – you name it – they’re all crony capitalists. They all have lobbyists, and once they bow to regulation they embrace it – to keep out new competitors.

Not only does this special expose crony capitalists, but also what a complete and utter buffoon Rachel Maddow is.

It’s worth watching all six segments if you have the time. Don’t blame capitalism for the recession, blame crony capitalism – created by the government.
