Final Update: Brown wins!!!! Below the fold you can find all the excitement.

Stay tuned. The Left Coast Rebel and I are teaming up to live blog the special election returns in Massachusetts tonight. We’ll each do frequent updates on our own blog, while commenting on the other blog. Feel free to join the fun in the comments section below. I’ll also be linking shortly to some bloggers who will be live at the Scott Brown campaign headquarters.

Update: I’ve meant to get to this all day. Before the election results start coming in, check out Ed Morrissey’s post from this morning about how the NRSC and the RNC played their cards close to the vest in this election. Perhaps they aren’t quite as incompetent as we thought.

Update: If you missed it, Frank Luntz is having trouble finding Democrats to admit being Democrats on TV.

Update: This race has democrats in California nervous.

Update: The Other McCain is live streaming video at the campaign headquarters of Scott Brown.

Update: MSNBC Chuck Todd just tweeted that 25% of the vote should be counted in first hour.

Update: Da Techguy has reports from several precincts.

Update: Stacy McCain just reported on the live stream above that Romney is there.

Update: 7:58 ET – Mitt just stepped up and a big whoop went out. I thought it was Scott Brown for a second. Be right back.

Update: What to watch for during election returns. Town benchmarks. More here.

Update: People at Brown’s campaign HQ seem pretty fired up. The Scott heard round the world! From The Other McCain’s live stream.

Update: Legal Insurrection’s live blogging from Mass.

Update: Here’s the latest Drudge headlines:

Rasmussen Reports: 22% of Dems voted for Brown; Voters who decided in past few days favored Coakley… Developing…
LARGE: Reports of 50% turnout…
Mass. secretary of state dismissed vote problems…

The headline about sec’y of state relates to Coakley’s complaints. I don’t think the videos from earlier were addressed.

Update: Drudge headline at 8:15 ET:

Scott Brown (R) 50%
Martha Coakley (D) 49%

Remember, it’s early.

Update: While waiting for election returns, read Stacy McCain’s report about the Massachusetts union official who voted for Brown and had a warning for the other Massachusetts senator. How delicious!

Bill O’Reilly just reported Brown is ahead 52% to 47%. But it’s still early!  Update: Sorry, I fixed the link just above. Don’t forget to keep refreshing because I’ll update frequently.

Update: See comment by reader Gary below. Good omen.

Update: 8:30 ET – Live stream at TOM is off air.

Update: Drudge:

SCOTT BROWN (R) 53%
MARTHA COAKLEY (D) 46%

Bill O’Reilly just reported Scott Brown is up by 5%.

Via Allahpundit, aka Eyeore, follow Dave Wasserman’s twitter feed. He reported Brown is over performing. It’s still early.

Update: 8:45 – O’Reilly: Brown 52%, Coakley 47%…

Update: NRO: Obama towns flipping to Brown. Could we have an early night? I forget her name, but a Dem strategist looks ready to cry on O’Reilly.

Update: Wasserman – looks better and better for Brown. Over performing in key towns.

Update: Fox News reporting from both camps. Brown’s camp is like a wild party. Not so much for Coakley, who is “still holding out hope.”

Update: Wasserman (Cook Political Report) tweeted:

Networks building suspense (at least CNN), but it’s over. Brown won.

Things are looking good for Scott Brown.

Update: Fox News is reporting 65% of the vote is in with Brown up 53% to 46%. Romney’s talking about the significance of it right now. Wouldn’t it be fun to be at the Brown camp tonight?

Update: Howard Dean is whining to Rachel Maddow on MSNBC about how there hasn’t been enough “real change” which is why Brown is winning. He said this is not a referendum on health care or Obama. He’s out of his mind. Rachel Maddow looks disappointed but she’s still smirking. She’s blaming it on a breakdown in party discipline. Back to Fox.

Update: From Drudge:

THE BOSTON TEA PARTY…
SCOTT BROWN (R) 0,750,616 53%
MARTHA COAKLEY (D)D: 0,661,351 46%

Hannity just reported (9:18 ET) that about 70% of the vote is in. Luntz has the focus group, many are Dems who voted for Obama and switched and voted to Brown. They want to kill the health care bill. They’ve had it with spending.

This just in: AP projecting Scott Brown will win!!!!! Mr. Brown goes to Washington!

OMG!!! Coakley Conceded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update: I have to go do the Snoopy dance!!

Live in Mass – Bell-weather towns (those that are usually a good representation of the state electorate) reported to be for Brown by 10 points!!!!

Reporter heard it from a source inside the Coakley campaign.

Did you catch that O’Reilly said tonight that Rasmussen actually did do exit polling? He then said that it was inconclusive…

  8. Lonely Conservative on January 19, 2010 at 8:25 pm

Gary – great news! Thanks. LCR-No, I didn’t catch that. I did hear earlier that Rasmussen was exit polling. I’m glad they didn’t release it. Exit polls are never that accurate.

  14. Lonely Conservative on January 19, 2010 at 9:02 pm

Yeah, NY 23 was good for about 5 minutes. See Dave Wasserman’s twitter feed. (Cook report). He said they don’t call races, but if they did he would call it for Brown.http://twitter.com/Dave_Wasserman

Fox News is at Coakley’s camp – saying they’re still hopeful.

Might I suggest http://www.boston.com/news/special/politics/2010/senate/results.html which shows Brown leading, 52-47, with 52% reporting?

Thanks, Chris. Fox News just showed Brown with 53%, but they don’t show percent of precincts reporting.
