More Health Care Corruption – Gruber Touted ObamaCare While on HHS Payroll

By

Is there anything about ObamaCare that isn’t totally corrupt? We all know there’s no transparency whatsoever, so this new report shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Jonathan Gruber is an economist who’s been touting health care reform in the media – he was supposed to be an independent analyst. I guess it would have been awkward to let the folks know he’s been on the government payroll all along.

Fox News: MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, one of the leading academic defenders of health care reform, is taking heat for failing to disclose consistently that he was under contract with the Department of Health and Human Services while he was touting the Democrats’ health proposals in the media.

Gruber, according to federal government documents, is under a $297,600 contract until next month to provide “technical assistance” in evaluating health care reform proposals. He was under a $95,000 HHS contract before that.

But while he was being paid to provide his services to HHS, he was also fending off health care reform critics in the media. Gruber was one of the prominent analysts to rebut an insurance industry report from PricewaterhouseCoopers in October saying premiums would shoot up if a health care bill passes. And he has recently written columns defending specific provisions in the House and Senate bills, particularly the “Cadillac tax” on high-cost insurance plans.

The liberal base of the Democratic Party is widely opposed to that tax, out of fear that it will cut into union benefits — which may explain why the first criticism of Gruber came out of liberal blogs.

“I have never seen it disclosed that he was a paid consultant to the Obama administration,” a blogger for Firedoglake wrote Friday morning. “For months I have been angry with Gruber because I thought he was simply an exaggerator whose dangerous love of the spotlight was hurting the efforts of progressives to make sure the Senate bill adopted more progressive cost control solutions. … Now it is clear something much more sinister was at play.” ….

Of course Gruber contends that he’s completely unbiased and all advocacy for ObamaCare was done on his own time. Yeah, and I’m Minnie Mouse.

William Jacobson quipped “Why don’t we just all move to Casablanca already, so I don’t have to keep on going with my ‘I’m shocked to find…’ blog post allusions.” (Is it warm there?)

Dr. Melissa Clothier is disgusted with Obama’s corruption. “He’ll get this health care passed if he has to lie, coerce and present “experts” as independent, when they’re actually working for him. And paid handsomely with your tax dollars, too.”

Jamme Wearing Fool is just as disgusted. “Nothing like pretending to be a neutral oberver in pushing Obamacare while raking in a mega-salary from the Department of Health and Human Services. Maybe we ought to call it Stealth and Human Services…”

Obama’s Transparency now is showing us how he keeps his promise by not showing the health care bill negations on C-Span. This is no surprise since we are dealing with a Chicago political organizer. This guy is making deals with our monies like he had some idea of what he is doing. Look at the deal Nebraska got, I mean really. Even the Governor Was smart enough to question it, he must like his job. Things that are being done to put this bill that only 38% of the U.S. want on this President’s desk is a gross slap in the face to all the Democrats that believed this leftist group with Obama, Pelosi and Reid. The real slap however is to the American People that are not being barraged with the issue about C-Span by the main stream media. I am not a Republican I am an angry Independent who believes that we need to change what we allow our politicians to get away with. Watch this condescending piece of garbage skirt the issue. Get this group out of office now.
