I’m not complaining, just saying, if a blogger stops blogging people stop coming back. That’s why so many of us blog on weekends and holidays. Plus, weekends and holidays are the new administration’s favorite times to release bad news. Someone’s got to cover it, may as well be the new media.
And the new media hasn’t rested this New Year’s weekend.
The Other McCain rolled out his new website. Check it out while reading about the government employee who’s in trouble for making fun of Dear Leader. PhotoShopper extraordinaire No Sheeples Here had the honor of being the first Full Metal Jacket Reach Around winner on the new site. I’d be happy with a link on the blogroll (hint, hint.)
The guys at Jumping in Pools discovered a blog they like. Read all about it. Then check out the satire from my fellow upstate New Yorkers. Speaking of upstate New York bloggers, Albany Conservative reminded me I’ve been quite remiss in my (lack of) coverage of the special election just down the Thruway in Massachusetts. Scott Brown could be the nail in the coffin of ObamaCare and he needs your support.
If you’re in need of a good chuckle, check out Reaganite Republican’s New Year’s funnies. My favorite’s the ball dropping – the ball being Obama’s approval ratings. And now even the New York Times is mocking global warming. There must be a mistake.
Now that you’re in a good mood, let me ruin it by drawing your attention to more “smart power” when it comes to foreign policy. The US traded an Iran-backed Iraqi terrorist for a British hostage. The only reason the Brit was taken hostage was to use him as a trade for the Iraqi terrorist. We sure made that easy for them.
Realizing that the American people think democrats are pantywaists when it comes to terrorism, a few of them now want you to think they’re cracking down on national security. A few more are joining republicans in calling for Janet Napolitano to be fired. Not that it would make a difference, she’d just be replaced by another incompetent nincompoop. Like the nominee to head the TSA – not only does he refuse to say whether he plans to unionize TSA workers, he also conveniently failed to accurately recall the time he illegally used his position at the FBI to spy on his ex-wife’s boyfriend.
On a positive note, This Ain’t Hell has the story of how the system worked in Houston. A violent jihadist ticked off his girlfriend so badly that she called the cops and they discovered his anti-tank rocket. Thank God Janet’s on the job.
Republicans are already planning their comeback. Although they aren’t much more popular than democrats, they’ll have to screw up pretty badly not to crush the jackasses in November. My gal pal Maggie has a list of the 10 most unforgettable and unforgivable actions of the statists. You can add to the list in the comment section. I think the way Goldman Sachs made billions should be on the list, as should the way Wall Street and the banks manage to keep turning a profit. Call it what you will – corporate socialism, corporatism – but it sure isn’t capitalism.
By now you’ve probably heard how the democrats killed off the successful DC School Voucher Program. The Anchoress has a brilliant idea to turn things around for the kids. I’d be happy to help out if the idea takes off.
My fingers are getting tired and the netbook is really slow, so that’s it for this post.
Final thoughts: Is it any wonder the democrats are having such a tough time recruiting candidates? And for some reason John Hawkins forgot to include The Lonely Conservative in his list of the top conservatives of 2009.
Update: I wasn’t injured while writing this post, but I could have been. The five year old sitting next to me failed to catch the football his brother threw at him. It bounced off my head and hit the keyboard. Thank goodness it was a Nerf. But remember, blogging can be dangerous.

I’ve shined many a combat boot and low quarters in my 21+ years in the US Army.
Based on this experience and all he’s done last year, I doubt that Obama would do a good job shining shoes.
Pretty sad because I’m sure even Carter and Clinton would get it right.
Does this make me racist?

“Does this make me racist?” But of course it does, silly! Any criticism of Dear Leader is racist. Didn’t you get the memo?

You’ve doubted Obama, therefore you are racist.
