Obama Orders DOJ to Move 9/11 Trial Out of NYC – Updated

This is good news for New York City, but bad news for wherever Holder decides to hold the terror trials. He wouldn’t have to make that decision if we were trying them in military tribunals.

New York Daily News: White House officials have told the Justice Department to consider other venues for the 9/11 terror trial that was to be held in lower Manhattan, the Daily News has learned.

The decision came after Mayor Bloomberg and other politicians across the state railed against President Obama’s plan to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in Manhattan Federal Court.

In related news, President Obama has shocked New Yorkers by coming out against federal funding for the 9/11 health bill. Maybe moving the terror trial out of NYC is his way of making up for it.

Update: Andy Levy just tweeted that a DOJ official says the NY Daily News story isn’t true.

Update 2: Fox News reported that an administration official confirmed that they are seeking alternate venues for the trial.

While I think the trial is a bunch of hooee, if we’re gonna have one I say have it in Chicago.

The out of town thugs should feel right at home.

I’m sure Mayor Daley has a extra room for KSM.
