Stossel: What Would Happen if Atlas Shrugs?

Mr. Lonely Conservative and his friend are watching the big game. I like football, but sorry folks, I have no affinity for either team. I guess I’ll cheer for Alabama, in the hopes that The Other McCain sends some traffic my way. Roll Tide!

I’ve been waiting all week for Stossel’s latest special, and tonight I watched it on the lap top while the game was on. I like John Stossel, he’s a common sense kind of guy. And Atlas Shrugged is one of my favorite novels. So of course I was sucked in. Stossel wonders who is most like Wesley Mooch. Gosh, it’s so hard to choose – Cass Sunstein, Tim Geither, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd….

In all seriousness, if things don’t change soon, we’re headed somewhere we don’t want to go.

Stossel and his guests (awesome lineup!) go into detail about how the novel is coming to life today. No wonder it’s still a best seller.

Stossel also reported that soon there will be an ‘Atlas Shrugged’ miniseries. It can’t come soon enough. Until then, kick back, relax (or not) and enjoy the show. This is a conversation we should all have every day – individuals vs. the collective. True capitalism is something to be celebrated, and if government gets out of the way maybe capitalism can make a come back. (Parts 2 through 6 below the fold.)
