Tell a lie often enough….

It’s stunning the way Barack Obama lies with such ease. The biggest whopper today came in response to a question from Rep. Hensarling:

“When you say that suddenly, I’ve got a monthly . . . deficit that’s higher than the annual deficit left by the Republicans . . . that’s factually just not true. And you know it’s not true.”

He then dared anyone to check his facts. I don’t think he really gives a hoot if he’s proven a liar. He’ll still stand there and lie through his teeth. You know, tell a lie often enough and sooner or later people will believe it’s the truth.

But that doesn’t mean we should just let him get away with it. Daniel Foster checked the facts, and it didn’t even take long.

That means that over twelve years of Republican rule, there was an average annual budget deficit of about $104 billion. Compare that with an average annual deficit since 2008 of $1.074 trillion — or about $90 billion per month.

No need to trust the GOP document either. The CBO has all the data in a handy downloadable spreadsheet here.

The only thing that amazes me is people still believe the things this man says. But then again, tell a lie often enough and people believe it’s the truth.

I posted this below but I am re-posting it here. I know it seems old, but if his lips are moving he is lying. I say this because I truly wonder if this man is clinically deranged. I have never known anyone that can lie continuously with everything he says. Not opinion, out and out lie. I wish someone who is qualified would comment on his sanity or lack thereof.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” –Josef Goebbels
