The Fix: Harry Reid apologizes for “light skinned” remark about Obama
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) apologized today for referring to President Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect” in private conversations during the 2008 presidential campaign.
“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words,” said Reid in a statement. “I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments.”
President Obama said in a statement that he and Reid had spoken about the matter on Saturday afternoon. “I accepted Harry’s apology without question because I’ve known him for years, I’ve seen the passionate leadership he’s shown on issues of social justice and I know what’s in his heart,” said Obama. “As far as I am concerned, the book is closed.” ….
So, it’s okay for democrats to make blatantly racist comments, but when a republican makes a comment interpreted as racist, democrats go nuts. Good thing John McCormack at the Weekly Standard has a long memory. He dug up a 2002 comment by Barack Obama about Trent Lott.
Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D-13th), who hosted WVON’s Cliff Kelley Show, challenged the Republican Party to repudiate Lott’s remarks and to call for his resignation as senate leader.
“It seems to be that we can forgive a 100-year-old senator for some of the indiscretion of his youth, but, what is more difficult to forgive is the current president of the U.S. Senate (Lott) suggesting we had been better off if we had followed a segregationist path in this country after all of the battles and fights for civil rights and all the work that we still have to do,” said Obama.
He said: “The Republican Party itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party.”

The President Invented manufactured anger. How quickly we forget about how President Obama started this whole thing with his buddy Gates being arrested. He knew that Gates had gone off on the cop who was called to the scene. It was just like his mentor Rev Wright was telling him this is good because it will keep the race relation and class envy high on everyone’s mind, now when Obama has Gibbs say manufactured anger this is the lead in Obama needs to sell the fact that his Health Bill went down in flames. He then will proceed to find a way to tie this defeat into a racial issue. And if all goes according to plan he will use the race card in 2010 to have Acorn go out manufacture anger in our inner cities and use this to help elect more leftists to congress.He is now seeing that the moderate and conservatives in his party are waking up to what is being pulled off. They can kiss their jobs good bye because we are going to replace them with a conservative or Obama is going to replace them with a more leftist base. So to him Reid is just keeping the home fires burning.

How dare those of us on the right attack Harry Reid. He’s a democrat, and democrat’s by definition cannot be racist.
After all, they are only trying to help the down-trodden negroes by keeping them dependent on the government that knows what’s best for them.
