This is why I still like Glenn Beck. Whether you think he’s in it for himself or not, he’s good. And, for someone in it for himself, he sure is good at ripping to shreds the argument that “We the People” are too stupid to know what’s good for us.
Mediaite called it the “best fifteen minutes of Glenn Beck ever.” Gotta say, it’s right up there. (H/T Breitbart)
Here’s the money quote, at the end of the video:
Joe, here’s a basic that you apparently don’t understand. We are not a democracy; we are a republic. And the Founders put those first three words in the Constitution in that really big font for a reason — as dumb as we may be — “we the people” still run this country. And Founders like Thomas Jefferson knew the people would make mistakes — usually when the government got too big and out of control and the politicians would figure out they could bribe their way into more power.
But time and time again, the Founders also said, even if they make a mistake the people will eventually figure it out and fix it. Maybe they were wrong — probably because they didn’t have Time Magazine, a publication so brilliant that they found a way to show 2009, the year in pictures, without having a single picture of a tea party-goer or town hall meeting.
How they overlooked that I don’t know. I’ll leave it to the deep-thinking intellectuals who got us into this mess in the first place. Because Joe, this dummy would like to point out that it wasn’t the little people driving trucks who were running the Fed, Congress or Goldman Sachs. Those are your friends, generally Ivy League pinheads.

It amazes one to realize the extent to which this silly country is susceptible to such blatant propaganda as spewed forth on a Daily basis by FOX Noise.
These are the days of America’s ultimate doom. When a clueless thought Nazi like Glenn Beck is able to hijack America political conversation, it only proves beyond a wisp of a doubt that America has swallowed the fatal capsule of its own demise.
Seriously, did you ever, in your weirdest, stupidest fantasies think your country would fall as low as it has? It kinda makes you wonder.

Tom,
You must be one of those “ivy league pinheads” that Beck describes… or did you go to Penn as well? Exactly which part of Glenn’s shredding of Klein was “propaganda” or do you even know? That seems to be all you progressives have against Beck, he’s telling lies and spreading propaganda but can’t actually define the lies nor the propaganda. Then again…. Tom… just how brilliant are you running around pointing your finger and proclaiming “you’re stupid” Seems I recall this kind of behavior, it was somewhere around the 5th grade.

Glenn was using a weapon against them that they can’t tolerate. When facts are pointed out using the vehicle of humor, it’s the most hurtful act you can perpetrate on arrogance and narcissism. I watched the whole hour and my favorite part was his mocking erudite leftists making wine choices using a skylight. FOX should time slot Glenn for a re run on Saturday evening at 11. It’ll beat SNL hands down since they haven’t been funny for the last twenty years.

Tom:
“THOUGHT NAZI?”
The left are the ones who supported the Nazis until it was too late.
Lefties are the ones who espouse many policies used by the Nazis (as well as the Soviets & Chi-Coms)to “regulate” free speach as expressed via various media.
The lefties LOVE so called hate crimes which in reality are THOUGHT crimes.
Are you a leftie or just annoyed by Glenn Beck?

To All the Gentlemen Above (except for you Tom),
Thanks for your thoughts. It kinda makes you wonder (as Tom would say) if Tom was really Joe Klein.
Perhaps, in my weirdest, stupidest fantasy Tom visits conservative sites and blogs, like beeping Internet Robot, attempting to upset itself by responding to “Fox Noise”. Maybe, Tom is part of a perpetual campaign and the Congressional Progressive Caucus that never gives its smear machine minions a day’s rest.
Now, if Tom didn’t stop short of using an intelligent phrase “hateful crap” we’d all be saying -hello Joe! because it kinda makes one wonder in their weirdest, stupidest fantasy if Joe is really Tom.
