Something tells me they won’t mention the fact that the CIA is spying on global warming. They didn’t connect the dots in the underpants bomber case, they were too busy connecting the dots – of iceburgs!
USA Today reported:
White House national security adviser James Jones says Americans will feel “a certain shock” when they read an account being released Thursday of the missed clues that could have prevented the alleged Christmas Day bomber from ever boarding the plane. President Obama “is legitimately and correctly alarmed that things that were available, bits of information that were available, patterns of behavior that were available, were not acted on,” Jones said in an interview Wednesday with USA TODAY. …
It would be nice to hear the real truth – that national security is at the bottom of Obama’s to-do list.
Final thought – I’m not sure what they’re going to report or whether they’ll talk about the fact that border enforcement learned of Abdulmutallab while he was en-route to Detroit. And they failed to notify the pilot.

Addendum: Someone’s probably going to get thrown under the bus. Any guesses who it may be?
Update: It’s 3:00 PM ET. He was going to speak at 1:00 PM. Then it was 3:00 PM. Now it’s scheduled for 4:30. What’s he waiting for?
I’m wondering if it will be NCTC director Michael Leiter who gets thrown under the bus. After the attempt by the underwear bomber to blow up Flight 253, Leiter followed his bosses lead and chose to remain on vacation. The only difference is the climate – Leiter was skiing. Maybe he was tasked with spying on climate change.
Update: According to Jake Tapper, Leiter didn’t leave from vacation until the day after the attempted attack, and it wasn’t the carefree trip described in the link just above. Whatever it was, it still looks bad.

It’ll only be a shocking report to some: “It’s Bush’s fault,” has become a broken record to the rest of us. Sigh.

Q: Who’s going to be thrown under the bus? A: ANYONE that Obama has to, except for himself. “Missed clues”? They need to get one first. This won’t be anything “shocking” in the least; just another confirmation of executive incompetence and the justifiable public fear that grows.
