You Know What Makes Cleaning Fun? Kid Rock!

I was filled with dread, imagining picking up after the kids, dusting and vacuuming. But then a light bulb went off – iPod! The first song that came up: [Warning - women wearing bikinis!]

I think I listened four times. Who knew dancing and cleaning could be such fun? Next up – Kenny Chesney, or as I refer to him, my boyfriend in my mind. Don’t worry, all is well with Mr. Lonely Conservative, who has a thing for Jennifer Nettles in his mind. By the time the Shuffle shuffled over to Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson I started looking for things to clean. Kim Carnes’s Bette Davis Eyes brought me back in time while I happily vacuumed the potato chip crumbs the boys left on the floor. And talk about going back in time, for someone who’s never developed a taste for coffee, I had no trouble moving and grooving to Black Coffee in Bed.

You get the drift. Hey, if you’re going to be stuck at home cleaning on a Saturday night you may as well make it fun!

Now I’m going to put that iPod back on and put in a little time on the old elliptical machine. Time to get in shape for my trip to CPAC next month. I’ve heard it’s wicked fun. Who says conservative aren’t cool? I can’t get to DC until Friday night, but I’ll be there Saturday and will be sure to give you the scoop. One of my dearest childhood friends is coming with me. When I told my mother she said “Who ever thought you two would go to a political conference for fun?” To which I replied “Who would have thought we’d have a Marxist president.”

On that note it’s time to make sure my favorite suit isn’t going to be too snug! Time for a little more Kid Rock.
