I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas. And I have to wait a little longer than most, since I can’t be there for tomorrow’s events. Tonight I’ll be packing our bags and tomorrow we’ll drive the kids to their grandparents’ in Pennsylvania. Mr. LC’s plans are still up in the air, he’s thinking about accompanying my friend and me when we head to DC Friday morning. Either way, we’ll arrive mid-afternoon Friday. We’ll probably just head to the lobby bar, it sounds like that’s where all the action will be.
According to Newt Gingrich, 10,000 of my fellow conservatives are descending on DC to attend CPAC. Beginning tomorrow voters can choose from 22 conservative solutions to the problems facing our republic in the Contract from America. The idea is for we the people to tell the politicians what we want them to do, not the other way around. In April the top ten solutions will be revealed, at which time elected officials and candidates will be asked to sign the pledge.
There’s a party Friday night at George in Georgetown where conservatives can take a whack at a Pelosi pinata or take a shot at a Harry Reid punching bag. Sounds like fun! But that’s not the only CPAC party this week. Reaganpalooza sounds like a good time.
Marco Rubio will kick off the event by delivering the 10:00 AM keynote speech tomorrow morning. I’ll post the speech as soon as I get the chance, but for now, here’s a preview.
Saturday afternoon the results of the straw poll will be revealed. I’ll be sure to bring you the news, it should be some time around 5:30, before Glenn Beck’s big speech.
Now I’ve gotta go pack. I’ll be back later if I have time.

Have fun. Remember to vote DeMint!
