I had my beef with the National Tea Party Convention this weekend. I thought perhaps the Tea Party phenomena was being used to the advantage of the organizer and it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Jesse Watters’s report kind of lays those misgivings to rest. Apparently, they are forming a PAC to support conservative candidates. I find no fault with that.
What I do find fault with is the way the MSM is covering the event. Take for example ABC’s John Berman. Gateway Pundit posted photos of Berman which leave no doubt that the Tea Party Convention is the last place he wants to be. Except for the part where he mocks the attendees and and grills the organizers.
ABC News and John Berman made sure to make Duncan Hunter look like a rabid right winger. As if any criticism of John McCain makes one a right wing lunatic. And apparently anyone who doesn’t buy into the whole “multiculturalism” meme is a nut job.
ABC isn’t the only network mocking the Tea Party. Of course, MSNBC had to get in on the action. And of course, they made fun of the people in attendance.
In summary, don’t expect to see any unbiased coverage of the Tea Party Convention coming from the MSM. If only they had called it the “Federal Tea Party Convention” I’d be able to have a more vehement defense. H/T to Mike Church on that point.
