It was announced this morning that the official unemployment rate dropped below 10%. Don’t start jumping for joy. Scores of unemployed Americans have simply given up on looking for employment. As I write this, President Obama is on television talking about how much more money he’s going to spend to create jobs. It’s pure insanity, and the added spending is only going to make the situation worse, and make the situation last longer. The more they spend in Washington, DC, the worse things are going to be for you and me.

Update: It didn’t take long for Nancy Pelosi to lie about the economy and her party’s massive spending.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said the latest unemployment figures are a sign the Democrats’ economic stimulus package is working.
“And what a good morning it is as was indicated by the jobs figures this morning,” Pelosi told Democratic National Committee (DNC) members Friday. “We know we have to do better but it’s a big difference.”The economy lost 20,000 jobs in January, according to government figures released Friday. The unemployment rate fell to 9.7 percent from 10 percent in December.
“What a good morning?!?” Does she realize that nearly a million Americans have given up on finding employment? And she calls it a good morning?
