I suspect that Tancredo is correct, though, no matter how PC we want to be about it. Mindless voting is dangerous. People probably should be able to at least understand certain concepts; I don't mind if it's a verbal test, if these folks are illiterate or of foreign birth. Reading and writing are difficult for some people for a variety of reasons. But voting and the responsibility that goes with it should not be handed to people who just throw a dart. Their "dart" has real and serious results for the direction of the entire country. I'm puzzled by the attention paid to this girl; as far as I know, all she has to offer is dna. Progressive dna, at that. She has accomplished exactly nothing, which makes her opinions worth exactly nothing. What book could she possibly have written? She hasn't been on the planet long enough to do anything interesting. She's sort of like Johnston posing in the nude...nothing much else to offer and milking her 15 minutes of fame. How sad. Did she really say “I got a book coming out”?

The article gives the impression that this is payback for Tom Tancredo's remarks about her father. Meghan is a little cutie, but she has a poor grasp of history. Every revolution has been started and run by older people- not teenagers. The founding fathers were in fact fathers, every revolution has mature people in control. Whether you care for their ideology or not - experience, not kids get the job done. Many young people have fought bravely as foot soldiers in revolutions but they are NOT in charge of the operation. Meghan, it is time for your father to retire or start looking for another job. He is part of the problem in Washington.
